Praise Only God
I had such a tough week! My dog had kittens! My cat had puppies! My children are so disobedient! My job is so stressful! My spouse doesn’t treat me right! I have so many problems! Why has God forsaken me? Why has He allowed me to suffer so much? The list of complaints goes on and on. But did you realize when you complain about all the misfortune in your life, you are praising the enemy and heaping even more trouble on top of you?
In Matthew 4:9-10, the enemy tried to get Jesus to worship him. Jesus told him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Some of us need to tell the enemy to “Be Gone!”.
We are to only praise God for what He has done and is doing in our lives. When we talk constantly about all the enemy is doing, we are praising him for doing a good job. He came to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10), so as we talk about how he is killing, destroying and stealing, we are, in effect, praising him for doing a great job. God Forbid!
We must learn to speak life to our situation (Mark 11:23) and praise God instead of the enemy. Yes, the enemy is on his job, but so is God! God protects us. God loves us. God is for us. No one is more dedicated to their job than God! No one does their job better than God. Stop praising an employee that tried to take over the company and when he was not strong enough, left and took several other under-performing, weak-minded employees with him!
God is a jealous God and if we want His favor; if we want Him to be our strong-hold (Jehovah-Chatsahi) and our provider (Jehovah –Jireh), we must Praise only Him!
